Q: whats the deal with the nissan gt-r price?
the base price of the gt-r on the Nissan web site is 76,840 but there is a disclaimer saying it excludes destination and handling charges so does that mean they exclude the charges of shipping it from a warehouse in the usa to your state or shipping it from japan to a warehouse in the usa then to your state

A: The destination and handling charge is $1000. I believe that covers from U.S. port of entry to the destination dealership. If I remember correctly, the Titan/Armada used to be the most expensive destination/handling charge ($780), and they’re assembled here in the U.S. The destination and handling charges were SUPPOSED to be included with the price of the GT-R, but that didn’t follow through when they finally arrived.

Q: Where can I get a used Nissan GT-R in ZIP code 07747?
It doesn’t matter what year it is

A: not in the us onless ur talking about the new ones and they start at 85k so if u are look used may 75k goodluck call a nissan dealer they sell them

Q: I am really wanting a nissan r34 nissan skyline gt-r i live in indiana how can i legally get it?
not the 60-90 thousand $ one and if any other import suggestions let me no im new to imports

A: Please ignore sean prejudice i could spend all day following around with his wrong comments,a Skyline is well proven in the racing world and been used in sports for many years after all the Skyline came out in 1957.

Skylines have been used as Taxi’s and Police cars after all there are non turbo single and twin turbo versions,My single turbo Skyline gets 13mpg driving slow so that version would not make a good Taxi cab.And also the car needs high octane fuel so i would like to pay their fares.

The R34 is a great Skyline and still expensive the World over, other Skylines are great also the R32 is light nippy and tunable, the R33 is heavier but the engine has been altered to cope with that mixed with more room and more raw power than the R32 the R34 is a mix of all the good points of the others so as you can tell each Skyline has had a lot to offer and after all the AWD drag record is owned by an R32 taken from an R33.

There are Skylines in the US it is a matter of finding one which is legal and has all the paperwork most states do not require a lhd convesion, but emissions and headlights etc will need to meet US regs.Yes the new GT-R is a great car and i would def have one,but the older Skylines have there own heritage and are great cars also and have that appeal by the masses the World over.

Q: Is the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 from the movie 2 fast 2 furious a Tommy Kraira or a MINE’S?
i know the car is an GT-R R34 but is it a Tommy Kraira or a MINE’S

A: stock version.

No car has quite the same reputation as Nissan’s Skyline GT-R. It’s not officially sold in the United States, barely qualifies as compact, and is built with its steering wheel on the wrong side, but the all-wheel-drive, sequentially twin-turbocharged Skyline GT-R has managed to become a legend in America. That the producers of “2 Fast 2 Furious” (“2F2F”) recognized that is at least somewhat encouraging–isn’t it?

The Skylines used during filming were all R34s, a model introduced way back in 1998. Like other Skylines, the R34 is powered by a RB26DETT 2.6-liter, DOHC, 24-valve straight six sitting longitudinally in the engine bay that’s force fed by twin turbos and rated at a laughingly low 280 hp. The R34’s engine feeds a six-speed Getrag gearbox that in turn sends power to the ATTESA all-wheel-drive system, which electronically varies the torque split.

Super HICAS four-wheel steering is also aboard and includes an electronic feedback control system to ensure precise wheel positioning under extreme circumstances. But the big change for the R34 from previous Skylines was a stiffened body shell and fresh aerodynamic design. This car has carbon-fiber under-car diffusers and a new rear wing.

In fact, the Skyline R34 is such an effective piece of technology, it was too good for movie work. All-wheel-drive supercars are quick and amazing to drive, but they’re absolutely nonchalant about their work. It takes a rear-quarter hit by an out-of-control country squire to get an R34’s tail to swing out dramatically, and burnouts are tough in a car with more traction than a Caterpillar D9. So the 2F2F transportation department excised the front driveshaft and disabled the Skyline’s four-wheel steering so it could misbehave like a regular car.

1999 Nissan Skyline Gtr R34 Engine View

For its appearance on camera, the Skyline was encrusted within a C-West body kit, drenched in House of Kolor’s platinum pearl paint and treated to a set of 19-inch HRE 446 polished wheels inside Toyo Proxes T1-S tires. Inside, the front passenger seat was ditched in favor of not one, not two, but three nitrous bottles–none of which are actually plumbed into the engine. Also thrown in is a Clarion head unit with LCD TV screen, a big JBL amp and Infinity speakers that actually seem to work. Of course, it also carries a bunch of blue neon and spits blue flame from its exhaust system.

As one of the two cars driven by too-pretty-for-a-guy hero Officer Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker), the Skyline, according to transportation coordinator Ted Moser, has 505 hp on tap and a hoarking 444 lb-ft of torque. In that “2F2F” alternate universe, that means this car rockets to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds, consumes the quarter-mile in 12.1 seconds and has a top speed of 180 mph. Back on the actual planet Earth, the performance is still strong, but not quite as strong as fresher, intact R34s we’ve driven.

With Josh Jacquot doing his suave Paul Walker imitation, the Skyline, which is bone stock under the hood, groped its way through the quarter in 14.1 seconds at 101 mph–the third quickest car of the six included in this movie car test. With 22,254 km (13,797 miles) on its odometer, this car wasn’t old, but it definitely had been beaten up pretty determinedly. Power output seemed down from other R34s, but a direct comparison is tough since the other R34s had the advantage of all-wheel-drive launches and didn’t need a feathery throttle down the track. This car literally smoked its rear tires on every 1-2 upshift, which was cool to watch but certainly added time to each run. Its performance is also sabotaged by its big diameter wheels and the added heft of all the add-ons. The last stock R34 we drove hit 60 mph in just 5.07 seconds and crushed the quarter mile in 13.3 seconds at 103.7 mph.

1999 Nissan Skyline Gtr R34 Front Interior View

The lack of AWD and 4WS knocked the movie Skyline’s performance to 0.91g on the skidpad, although we expected worse. The missing front differentials made the car much easier to drift, which is of course, the point, and we have to admit the car looked great doing it.

As for the brakes, they remain stock all around, and the ABS is intact. From 60 mph, this car stopped in 127 ft. Again, not a terrible performance, but not exactly what we’ve come to expect from a Skyline GT-R.

Overall, the Skyline turned out to be one of the better running and better sorted of the six cars. The driver’s seat is a Sparco Milano and the additional gauges are HKS products.”It’s not too bad,” Josh reported after his quarter-mile runs. “Now we know how a rear-wheel-drive R34 performs.”

me and someone are debating on which is a better car to buy so i need facts

A: mercedes. The nissan gt-r is a pile of crap, you cant turn off traction control without voiding your warrenty and when the trans goes its $20k to fix. And yes that has already happened.

Story here:

http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=25361

yea the nissan won but porsche called them out cause they test drove them and ended up being 20sec’s slower then when nissan tested them, even tho nissan denys “modding” it i bet you any money they tuned it and whatever else to make the faster time saying its stock from factory.

Q: Nissan GT-R in Forza Motorsport 3?
Just wanted to know if anyone knows if the Nissan GT-R is in Forza 3.
Would be great if it is.
Thanks Brad

A: Yes it is, she’s a beast of a ride. Nissan’s achievement.

Q: Nissan GT-R in California?
the drivers seat is on right side? isn’t that illegal. Also, how does one import a car, wouldn’t that be super expensive

http://carversation.com/2008/04/12/nissan-gt-r-spotted-in-irvinecalifornia/

A: The GT-R in that video is a RHD car. You can clearly see it at the point when the car goes by the camera after stalling.

Also, the new GT-R is a world market car, so alot of the saftey features used in the Japanese market are also used in the US market, and vice versa.

It was mentioned that the car could be used by Nissan as an R&D mule, so it’s probably just here on a “tourist visa”…lol

Q: Is the 2009 Nissan GT-R too good to be true?
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=123067

0-60 in 3.5, 193 mph top speed and 473 horsepower…
this car, for its price/value…. seems too good to be true. is it?

A: Faster 3.3 seconds to 60 and 200mph and so well thought out you might even be able to drive it everyday. Understated looks you might fly under the watch full eye of the police too. It is to bad all the 1,200 production has been sold for the first year and no more until 2010. Watch The after sellers there are speculators that bought cars they do not intend to drive just mark up $30,000 and sell for over $100,000. Like the Ford GT. ( I am willing to test drive anybodies GTR at a local race track) Come on any takers?

Q: Where can I find a 2004 Nissan Skyline GT-R in Southern California?
Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II Nur

A: Try eBay.

Q: 2009 Nissan GT-R Release Date?
Does anyone know if the official 2009 Nissan GT-R Release Date has been made public?

A: Official release date is June of 2008, but in order for the dealer to even sale the vehicle, the dealership’s service department must have a specially trained service manager and technician designated for the gtr and the service must have a certain service score.. Service must also buy a specially designated lift. Unfortunately, your dealerships won’t know until they get an ok from the owner so good luck trying to get info from the sales department.. sorry can’t give any more information..

Q: Where can I buy a 2009 Nissan GT-R in Vancouver B.C.?
I’m having quite a bit of trouble getting information from dealers around here regarding the availability of the GT-R. Any information would be great! Thanks!

A: All you can due is contact Nissan main office i would have thought .
I know Nissan is being slow at selling these cars worldwide due to Nissan garages not being ready to do the repairs and having to be trained and also with these cars being handmade in many areas again has caused a delay.
Also many GT-R’s have been imported by importers but Nissan is trying to stop this and refusing to do any repairs until the car has been officially release in that country.

Q: Nissan GT-R price in future?
OK, so before you answer this question please be a person thats KNOWS what they are talking about, if you have no idea what you are talking about and just guessing the price, please tell me “I guess” or “I think”.

But anyways the question is, how much do you think USED nissan Gt-R’s will be in say 2012-2013? I saw used ones for 61 grand 62 grand and 64 grand.

Do you think they will be 50 grand used??

A: I am a Nissan GT-R master Technician. Let me pull up my Crystal Ball. a 2009 Nissan GT-R with 60 to 100,000 miles or a garage kept example with low miles that the owner know exactly how much it is worth. Prices will be all over the place. I would use caution buying such a car because you cannot just replace the front brake pads (entire brake system) must be serviced for over $8,000 each time. Expensive services not a car for the financially challenged. If you have several Hundred thousand dollars in the bank buy a super-car and loose money faster than investing in the stock market. Cars like these are not good investments if you drive them.

Q: Nissan GT-R Rear Bumper Sticker?
I was wondering where I can find this to put onto my Nissan GT-R. I want the black decals on his bumper. In this video you could see what I mean. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dt01w68GevY
Please help. Thanks a lot.

A: Many people use computer design programs to cut Vinyl lettering. Those with the car dementions added to the computer can use GT Haus picture to duplicate those stickers with out there logos. Try sign and auto wrap shops they can make a set of bumper stickers on flat black 3M sticky back vinyl film. Think of what you also want to do to the front bumper below the headlights.

Q: Is the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 illegal to register in California?
I saw an ad on Craigslist to buy a real Skyline GT-R R34 in the Bay Area, but it said at the bottom, “This car cannot be registered in California.” I was wondering why.
I can’t find the ad anymore, sorry, but the car didn’t look like anything was wrong with it and almost everything was stock. It was also Right hand drive (obviously).

A: Nissan never made them for the US market so they don’t pass US laws. Cali has stricter laws than the rest of the US making it even harder to pass. You could get it converted to pass US laws but its expensive. It also may not be possible to upgrade it further to the Cali laws.

Q: Cars that look like Nissan GT-R?
First off I’m not car expert so don’t criticize lol. I watched fast and furious and love Paul walkers car. I looked it up and it said it was a nissan GT r I fell in LOVE I want a car that looks like that but dosnt include all that speed racing crap. Can u buy a Nissan gtr without that stuff or does anyone know a car that looks similar to it?

A: It’s true what the previous answers said about the Skyline GTR BUT note this, even if you could afford one, they are not sold in America. You would have to import them straight from Japan. unless it’s the 2007+ Nissan Skyline R35 GTR. Reason why is they do not meet USA specs and air regulation. it will be hard for it to be green lit for the go for it to be driven on the street. here’s what i suggest from you, if you just want the exterior and don’t matter much about the interior, buy a Nissan 240SX S13, year 1989-1994 coupe version. Then you import the front end of a Skyline GTR R34 on ebay and get the tail lights, take it to a body shop and have them customize it for you. a friend of mine, his cousin did that and it’s a black color. looks really really clean. the R34 is Paul Walkers GTR in the fast n furious movie.
