A: I researched a long list of cars versus the Porsche Panamera Turbo (There are four different Panameras.) a while back on Answers. I only considered sedans (four doors). That list included only one Mercedes — the 65 AMG, the big one. It included the Bentley Flying Spur, the Maserati Quadroporte, the new supercharged Jaguar, the Aston Martin Rapide, a Lamborghini, etc., etc.

People can throw all sorts of subjective ideas into such a question: “best boulevard cruiser with rear dishwasher to handle my champagne flutes (Bentley),” “best pillow soft ride,” etc. I ignored that and concentrated on handling.

People like to use 0 to 60 time as a measure of performance. It hardly tells all, but here are the results of the comparison: Panamera Turbo easily beat everything else with two exceptions: the Mercedes 65 AMG, which tied it in 0 to 60 at 4.0 seconds, and the Cadillac CTS-V, which beats both at 3.9 seconds. All three of these cars are faster in this test than the original Lamborghini Diablo.

I’ve ridden in a Panamera 4S (AWD like the turbo, but with only 400 HP) and watched that car perform in a Porsche Club autocross. I’d quickly take this car over all the others, including the much heavier and more expensive Mercedes. In a test of the big Mercedes, Top Gear complained that it tended to overheat when pushed hard.

A: There has been no comparison testing between other luxury cars and the Porsche Panamera yet. You will have to wait for the results. When I buy mine sometime in 2019 I will give you my personal driving impressions of a used one.

A: lol… you’ve got some funny answers to your question. I think the dealers do get aggressive when the new models come out, but how much really depends upon the dealer, how many units they have on hand, and how badly they want to impress Porsche by moving units. Really, it varies quite a bit, but I wouldn’t expect more than $2,000-$3,000 to come off the price purely because of a change in model year. Sorry, that’s not a very good answer, but its the best generalization I can make.

FWIW, I have driven a couple Panameras, and anyone who tells you they handle badly simply hasn’t driven one. They are very impressive as high performance touring cars go.

A: it’s a concept car as of this moment and porsche’s planning on putting this car to production on 2009, it has a v8 cayenne engine including a normally-aspirated and turbocharged motors making at least 340 and 450 horses respectively. and it’s a sedan which for me is quite unusual for porsche, they say it’s the successor of the 928, it kinda looks like a stretched 911 to me, it will be unveiled at frankfurt’s international auto show in september, prices will range from $125,000 to $175,000

But if I were you, I really wouldn’t buy any of these cars.

Q: Which High performance Luxury sedan would you take between the two?????? Porsche Panamera or Infiniti R35?
For some of you who don’t know, the all new 2010 Porsche Panamera has come out into production selling for $89,900- $132,000 in the US. The Porsche has innovated a vehicle to meet the comfort of a sedan but they still managed to sculpt and create a coupe like sedan that remains to reflect its coupe DNA partner the Cayman.

The All new Infiniti High performance Sedan was speculated to Debut in 2009 as a concept and in 2010 as a production vehicle. Due to the economy the car was postponed to debut in the market of 2011. Infiniti anticipates to revive the all new 2011 Infiniti R-35 as the Flagship sedan for Infiniti which is based on the Nissan GTR but on a completely new platform that reflects Infiniti designs. Although price specs are not set in stone, though Infiniti believes the car will price within a figure of $87,000-$105,000 USD. The R35 will be designed and built to produce 420 HP- 450 HP. Its competitors include the all new Karma Fisker sedan also being introduced to the US in 2011, the Porsche Panamera, Maserati Quattroporte and the 2010 Jaguar XJ.

A: When you can actually walk into a Dealership and buy or order one will probably depend on where you are. Since the Panamera has been formally presented to the world, it is, in theory, on the market now.

I live in the U.S. In the medium sized city where I reside, it’s virtually impossible to buy a new GT2. They’ve been “on sale” for years. Porsche makes so few of some models that actually getting (or even being able to see) one is problematic. Salt Lake City may get one or two Panameras soon, or not at all this year.

Try L.A. or New York Dealerships.

Q: Are Porsche Panamera stick shifts?
I like this car but I want to know if it is a stick shift. I can’t tell in the pictures so I can’t look there. If it isn’t a stick though, I more than likely won’t consider getting it.

A: Yes … and no. There are six cylinder Panameras – the Panamera and Panamera 4 – and eight cylinder Panameras – the Panamera 4S and Panamera Turbo. Check out this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_Panamera .

Some Panameras can be had with a six-speed manual transmission and some come only with the amazing seven-speed PDK transmission. This is the new, lightning-fast auto tranny (with manual paddle shifters) that lets the 2011 530 HP Porsche 911 Turbo S whip the new “super” ZR1 Corvette (638 HP) on 0 to 60 mph time: 3.1 seconds for the Porsche and 3.4 seconds for the Corvette.

You can have the six speed if you want, but not with the top end Panamera, the 500 HP AWD Turbo, which does 0 to 60 in 4.0 seconds, destroying everything in its class except the Mercedes 65 AMG, which ties it, and the Cadillac CTS-V, which beats them both at 3.9 seconds. (All three of these cars are faster, 0 to 60, than the original Lamborghini Diablo.)

which car do you guys think is better?

A: I have a 2010 Porsche Cayenne and it is amazing! It is classic, sportive, fancy, perfect size etc.
Before getting it, I used to like Mercedes and BMW. Now that I have my baby Porsche I don’t care about those other cars anymore. I don’t even want to see them in the streets.

I think Porsche is better than the other types of cars, because honestly, you don’t see that many people with Porsche’s around.
