Q: Which Hummer is bigger the Hummer H2 or the Hummer H1. Is the hummer the toughest vehicle you can get?

A: Hummers go in numerical order. H1 is the original and the toughest. H2 is smaller and not nearly as tough looking or sturdy. The new H3 is even smaller and even less tough. when the H4 rolls out, it will be a plastic toy truck.
The H1 is the best hummer as it is the same that the military uses. you can take it anywhere and it will keep on going. you can forge rivers, climb near vertical trails and jump sand dunes. Any other truck on earth would fall apart or sink. As far as for price, it is not in most peoples price range so they opt for the H2 which is merely for glamour and not for going off road. the H3 I would’t even take it through a mud puddle. If you want an afforable off-road 4 dr, then go for the Jeep Liberty or the 4 dr jeep wrangler when it comes out next year. Jeeps have long been the best everyman consumer off road capable vehicle.

A: I would only buy a Hummer if I was truly planning on using the awesome off-road capability that it offers. If you’re a fan of rock climbing and other true off-road activities, I’d say consider it. But if you’re just using it to go to the snow for the weekend, you’d be better off in a Tahoe or Suburban.
Even though it uses the same Vortec engine as the Suburban it gets worse mileage due to heavier curb weight and aerodynamics (they both may be boxes, but one is wider and has more rough edges, literally). You’ll be looking at high of 14mpg and lows of 8mpg.
I don’t own one personally, but I have friends who do or have in the past, and none of them actually used them for proper off-road use. And I think they wasted their money, both on the car and at the pump. Some of them have downgraded to the H3 because they realized the H2 was overkill.
I personally wouldn’t buy a Hummer H2, (though I would love to own an H3) because my off-road use is usually just going to the snow on the weekend or going camping. And a Suburban easily meets those needs and can haul more gear.

They are a 24in x 12 in XD Series Rockstar rims and a 325/45R24 Yokohama Parada tire
A: The overall diameter will be about one inch larger than stock, so they will fit. But the vehicle’s off road prowess will be significantly compromised. But I’m guessing you’re more concerned about looks rather than actual performance.

The thing is, i’m over in Afghanistan at the moment. I’m coming home in Sept. for a friends wedding. I’m looking for a Hummer H2 or some sort of Exotic car to rent for a week. Most car rental places have lame cars. Can some one help me out?
A: You can rent a Hummer H2 or H3 through Hertz (www.hertz.com). I’ve just checked their website. You didn’t mention your location in Minnesota so I just put in Minneapolis. It’s going to run you anywhere from about $100 – $200/day depending upon a variety of factors, including the day of the week you rent, whether or not you want unlimited mileage, etc.
I would imagine that you’d be able to access and rent Hertz’s luxury line of vehicles (like the Hummer) in most major cities in Minnesota. So, even if you don’t live in Minneapolis, you still might be able to make it happen.
Just go to Hertz’s website and plug in the Hertz location that you’d like to rent from and then you’ll know for sure.

The tach is sticking on my 2004 H2. You can firewall it about 3 times and it will reset, but not for long. How do you fix this? I see there is a place on line that repairs these for $189.00. How do you take the instrument panel out? Also, temp gage went crazy yesterday. Showed overheating. Vehicle was not. I disconnected the battery this morning and that seems to have corrected that for now. Any knowledgable help would be appreciated. Thank you.
A: A lot of times, GM offers reprograms for the IP’s (Instrument Panel). They are electric and not cable operated like they used to be. If it is still under warranty, they would be able to do this for you at no cost to you.
The IP comes out after removing the Dash face, 4 screws that hold the IP in and unplugging it.

A: You would be best off buying them in the States and shipping them over. The mark up by a dealer would be huge if you bought them already imported.

The H2 has a plummeting value. So while you’re leasing it, you’ll just be losing money, if you decide to but it.
If you don’t, what was the point of spending all the money on a vehicle you don’t keep?
A fool proof plan would be to get a cheaper vehicle, that doesn’t eat gas, and use all that extra money you’re making on something more practical. Like entertaining the ladies.
