Q: Volkswagen tiguan or toyota rav4?
what would u chose?would u chose the tiguan just because it is a vw?
A: I would choose the Subaru Forester or Honda CR-V, but if you already have made up your mind between these 2, then I would go with the RAV4.
I would NOT choose the Tiguan because it is a VW.
Q: 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan – Wolfsburg Trim?
I’m about to turn 16 and for a car to get, I’m really interested in the 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan in the Wolfsburg Trim (the median between the basic Tiguan and the totally decked out Tiguan). I don’t know anyone with a Tiguan so I haven’t heard opinions about it other than on the internet. Does anyone have opinions about it? bad or good? And also, does anyone know what the buttons on the steering wheel are? I can’t see from any of the pictures I’ve seen.
A: Its the best in its class. Its very comfortable on tarmac and very capable off-road. It has parking assist, bluetooth, etc. as standard(depending on your country). Good leg room inside, ergonomic seats good for long drives. Much better than Honda CR-V and Suzuki Grand Vitara.
The buttons on the steering wheel are for volume up and down, answer call using bluetooth connection to your phone and directional buttons to toggle up and down and select from the dashboard options.
Q: Volkswagen Tiguan vs. Nissan Rogue?
I have my learner’s permit and will be getting my driver’s liscene on March 4th of 2009. We’ve been talking to many dealers working our way down a long list of cars (all of them small SUVs or SUV crossovers) and the two that we’re interested in getting for me is either the Volkswagen Tiguan with all of the special features or the Nissan Rogue with the highest package available.
Does anyone have experience with both or is very knowledgeable with both and can recommend one to me? What are your experiences with owning one? Are there any comments about one of them that I should heed?
A: Consumer reports doesn’t recommend Volkswagen automobiles because of poor reliability and dealer service. I would pass over their vehicles for both these reasons.

Or Volkswagen Tiguan sport in deep-black pear effect:

what do u think? =)
A: I think that the Audi Q5 Is Better/”Hotter”
Q: Buying a new car, but undecided: Honda Fit or Volkswagen Tiguan?
I’m a college student buying her first car, and I’m trying to figure out which one is the best for me. I’m originally from New York, but I go to school in Los Angeles, and after two years of using the very slow and buggy Metro and asking my car-wielding friends for favors, I’m ready to have my own. The thing is, I do a lot of random stuff, so I’d like a car that can either hold 5 people, or hold a decent sized piece of furniture; I don’t need to have both. Price isn’t a big issue. What is is that I only learned how to drive last year, and I need a car that is fairly easy to work with (no huge blind spots, etc). I had done my research, and the Honda Fit kept popping up so I had settled on that, but I recently discovered the Volkswagen Tiguan. Since it’s so new, there’s not a lot of info on the internet about it and I can’t compare the two too much. Therefore, I open the question up to you, internet denizens who probably know a lot more about cars than I: Fit or Tiguan?
A: Those are two WAY different cars; the Tiguan is more like a Rav4 or CRV than a Fit.
I used to work for VW and I’d strongly advise AGAINST buying a VW the first year it’s out… VW’s tend to go to market with a lot more problems than Japanese cars do. The fit would be *way* more reliable and better on gas.
Q: Which is best for a first time driver, Honda CRV, Rav4, Volkswagen Tiguan, Nissan Rogue or Buick Enclave?
Feature-wise, fuel economy, speed and off roads.
A: the first two, you would be pretty insane to take off road.
Honestly, the Buick Enclave looks like the nicest crossover out of your selections. The volkswagen and the Nissan look kinda cheap on the interior. I know VW is awesome sometimes, but I don’t really trust them. If I had to choose between those two, I guess I would go with the Tiguan as it is minimalist… less confusing… they all have comparable features, I think that vw has a few more, like heatable sideviews and a backup camera, however these may just be options.
They all have similar gas mileage as well… I think you should rule out the rogue and pick between the Tiguan and the Enclave.
IMO of course.
Thanks.
Q: Volkswagen Tiguan or Acura RDX?
The RDX is a bit more about 100 dollars more A MONTH when financing for 60 months. Is it worth it in the long run? Because I have read that VW are not as strong with the reliability and the maintenance is expensive. Also according to J.D. power it has poor to satisfactory dependability rating. Please voice your opinion, its my first car purchase.
A: Get a mazda 3.
Q: What do you think of the Volkswagen Tiguan? How would you rate it? 1-10?
Does it hold a child’s car seat good?
Are the back passengers comfortable in the back?
Does it drive smooth?
Does it have enough power to merge onto the freeway?
Is the MPG good?
A: i would give it a 15. yeah, it’s that amazing. my mom is leasing one right now. it is so hard to get me out of that thing. it’s a 6 speed automatic and it shifts and drives so well. it gets around 25 mpg when i drive. yes, i use that computer thing. the back is huge and comfortable. i love manual vehicles but this thing, i had a hard time believing that it’s an automatic. this baby is GREAT on the highway. if you have the means to get one, do it. i love this car. now i want to go for a drive. lol. it has this thing called ESP which is great for handling. you can feel the difference from other SUVs without it. it literally grips the road.
Q: Is the 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan reliable?
JD power & associates only gave it 2.5 stars and im wondering if I should buy it or not.
Thanks
A: I do not own a Tig, but I do have the same engine, transmission , etc. in my ‘05 VW GTI.
This is a 2.0 litre, turbocharged, direct-injection engine.
I have not had one single issue with the engine; or the entire car for that matter. Best car I have ever owned.
Consumer Reports Magazine says that the Tiguan is a “Recommended Buy”. Owner Satisfaction is rated ‘High’. They also report that the handling is agile and secure. Engine is smooth and punchy. Excellent fit and finish. I trust CR magazine; have based my car buying info on them for years.
I also trust VW. After having ‘teething problems ‘ with the Toureg, they have gotten the Tiguan problem free right at the start.
I drove a Tig for a day. Enjoyed it immensely. Wife liked it too. But we are not SUV people.
But if we were, we would definately buy a Tig!
Q: Acura RDX or Volkswagen Tiguan?
The RDX is a bit more about 100 dollars more A MONTH when financing for 60 months. Is it worth it in the long run? Because I have read that VW are not as strong with the reliability and the maintenance is expensive. Also according to J.D. power it has poor to satisfactory dependability rating. A: The Acura RDX SH-AWD is an entry luxury crossover SUV. The VW Tiguan AWD is a Light Duty Vehicle and is more economical.
The tiguan has more cargo room and delivers better fuel economy comparing to the Acura RDX (Sport Utility Vehicle). The ride comfort is also better on the VW due to lack of sport suspensions.
The RDX however has more sports tuned rear suspension and the SH-AWD system is more performance oriented in acceleration and hard turning. The RDX has a bigger turbo charged engine delivering 240hp and 260ftp of torque vs VW 200hp and 207ftp of torque. The 0-60 time for the RDX is about a second quicker (6.4s).
Also since the Tiguan is not a luxury car it is cheaper. So your choice depends on whether you want luxury and performance or practicality and value.
According to JD powers, the RDX has a reliability score of 7/10 vs Tiguan’s 5/10 reliability rating posted on rankingsandreviews.com
Q: volkswagen tiguan! comments please, convince me to purchase? or not? ?
between vw tiguan, or the nissan rogue?
A: None of these are very good cars. And I say this because they are both terribly over-engineered. They are front heavy and front wheel drive. A bad combination for great driving performance. But for every day use it would be fine.
FWD has terrible handling dynamics. there is a limitation to how much power you can send to the front wheels. The automakers put poor mans traction control to prevent the outer wheel from spinning while turning and accelerating at the same time. They had to do this as a requirement to putting in bigger engines over the years.
Torque steer is a significant problem with these designs. When making a right turn or when pulling out of a parking lot and onto the street for example. The wheels will want to spin even under low throttle acceleration.
The best car designs overall would be cars from the 1960s with full body on chassis. RWD and a live rear axle and little electronical components that will break and leave you stranded. Very easy to work on. Very easy to troubleshoot. Very cheap to keep running once it reaches at least 5 years of age. Carburetors, points and rotors, no computers.
For a modern car there is nothing wrong with leasing. But once the car becomes 6 to 10 years old it becomes cheaper to lease a modern car than to keep one running by the monthly repairs that it will need. In other words, don’t buy a modern car. Especially if it’s an American car or a Volkswagen/Audi. If you are gonna buy a modern car it should be a Toyota, Subaru or a Honda but not a Nissan.
On the bright side. Automakers are now offering more RWD options. AWD is good depending on who makes it. FWD based AWD is pretty pointless. But BMW and Porsche do make good RWD based AWD. And Subaru has symmetrical AWD which is the best AWD that there is.
Before you buy. Consider getting a Subaru Tribeca.
Q: Nissan Murano or Volkswagen Tiguan?
out of the two, which one should I buy?? please list why i should buy that car. thanks for the answers
my third choice is the Jeep Grand Cherokee
A: for one, you dont want to buy a jeep. they are very unreliable vehicles. i would go with anything that is not made in the USA. just because foreign car makers tend to make the best vehicles on the road. both the volkswagen and the nissan are good cars. volkswagens last a lifetime. they are very well put together cars and you dont see many of them on the road, so it would be nice to have something that everyone doesnt have. its good on gas (for an SUV). the only down side is maintenance. if you can afford the maintenance on a german vehicle, than the volkswagen is something i recommend without a doubt. very reliable, and very safe. the nissan is nice too. you see a lot more of them around, and they arent so good on gas. maintenance is decently priced. if i were looking into SUVs, i would buy the volkswagen because they really are good cars.
Q: Volkswagen Tiguan? Good Car?
I’m looking at buying a Tiguan SE 4Motion with the panoramic sunroof. Looks like a good car. I am looking at a Mazda CX-7 but I like the Tiguan’s styling more.
Thanks!
A: I personally like the mazda cx-7 but the tiguan is good too. Who ever tells you that VW’s suck punch them in the face. Dont own either of them so i cant tell you if its a good car but just wanted to point that out.
Q: Volkswagen Tiguan or Mercedes c class? ?
tiguan – about $15,000
c class – about $18,000
[lease for 39 months]
A: the volkwagon
Q: volkswagen tiguan a good car?
is it a good car. i want your opinion whether you own it or dont
A: No, it’s not a good car
It’s a friggin VOLKSWAGEN!!!
I would suggest the Mazda 5 instead
Even the Kia Rondo is a better choice than a VW!
However, if you STILL want a VW, then I would suggest a Jetta TDI wagon
I would probably go for a 5-speed 5
